Social distancing, two words that seems so contrary to our industry that revolves around face-to-face exhibitions and events. After all, face-to-face is in our blood... our DNA even! Yet here we are, facing the most challenging time our industry has ever faced. There has never been a more important time to band together as a community, to be kind to one another and to navigate these uncharted seas together.

Remember the support tools we have available through IAEE like MemberLink to connect and learn real-time from industry colleagues. Be sure to participate in IAEE's advocacy efforts in partnership with the US Travel Association and let our governmental leaders know the devastating impact this pandemic is having on our industry.

I hope I will have the opportunity to see many of you, face-to-face, at our chapter's June 2nd Educational Program at the Renaissance Schaumburg, in conjunction with Exhibitions Day. In the spirit of community and support, we are planning to roll out a community service opportunity at that event which will benefit our chapter charity, Sarah's Circle.

Stay strong everyone. I am proud to be a part of this IAEE Midwestern Chapter community as we support one another and tackle these immense challenges together. I want to close by sending each of you a heartfelt note of encouragement and the best of wishes for health and wellness in the months to come.

Dawn Young, CEM, Chapter Chair

New Midwestern Chapter Mentorship Program Alert
Register to Receive Updates!

With so many bright, talented individuals that make up our chapter, the YP Committee is currently developing a new Mentorship Program specifically for the IAEE Midwestern Chapter to better connect, engage, educate, and inspire our members. Regardless of your age, expertise level, or event career path interest, the program will aspire to have something for everyone and make meaningful connections based on an individual's goals and objectives. At this stage we are not asking for any formal commitments but instead want to gauge interest from those who want to stay informed about mentor and mentee opportunities as this program develops. Calling all Supplier Members!

In support of our chapter charity, Sarah's Circle, we will be assembling toiletry kits at our June Education event. Sponsors can purchase one of four table-tops to engage with show producers and meeting planners while making toiletry kits for Sarah's Circle. Each of the four tables will have items, assembly line style, with attendees moving from table to table to fill their bags. We will provide you with stories of how women become homeless and the services offered at Sarah's Circle for you to share with the attendees as they visit your table-top.

Cost: $150 ($50 goes directly to Sarah's Circle). All toiletry supplies will be provided. Feel free to bring a pull up display and your promotional items. Activity will take place during registration. Historically 65% of the attendees to our June program are show producers and planners. For more information, email Gail Brooks.
